Jeffrey Campbell Trunk Show!

The Jeffrey Campbell Trunk Show was a huge success here at J.Karma! It was a night of champagne, design, and J.Karma shoppers looking extra cute in their JC's. Here to help host the event was Ty from Jeffrey Campbell who came down from New York to fill all of you in on the hottest shoes for this season as well as a sneak peak of Spring/Summer! We saw lots of our regular customers and some new faces as well. Thanks guys!!

Windows Throughout Old City

This is a really cool contest and exhibit celebrating innovative thinking and visual inspiration from students, recent grads, professionals and artists in various fields of design. During the city-wide design celebration "Design Philadelphia", Old City windows will be transformed into exciting visual displays for public viewing. You get to vote for your favorite window along with other special events spotlighting all things design.

One of the newest additions on the shelves at J.Karma is this little beauty from the BCBG Generation collection. As you know I love metallic so when we unpacked this shoe I fell for it instantly. Reese Witherspoon @ J.Karma

So OK, I get excited over this kind of thing. It is not everyday that an "A lister" comes strolling down third street and into J.Karma. She browsed around and her entourage gushed over the FRYE boots and then she left and continued to shop in Old City. Thanks for the local business support Reese. Of course I wanted to freak out about the fact that she was in the store but I kept my cool guys, until she left of course then I had to fill Jeanne in. I found two images, the second image was the way she we saw her and the first photo I just think is beautiful.

Fall

Well I don't know about you but this was the fastest summer of my entire life. I was on my way home around 7:45ish and it was almost dark and that's when I realized that fall was really here. I have to admit that the only things I enjoy about the weather getting cooler is boots and tights, fall/winter fashion, oh and leaving my windows open in my apartment. Sterling Silver Rings

Jeanne and I just took a trip to New York and brought back some fabulous sterling silver jewelry. I just love rings, they are easy to put on and easy to take off. These are some of my favorite rings but we have two cases fully stocked of silver rings so there are so many more to choose from. We have some casual everyday rings to fancy going out on the town rings. There is honestly something for everyone. Come try some on!

Metallic

Metallic anything is my favorite color right now and Big Buddha came out with an entire line of bags to control my addiction. I think we stocked up on all of the Metallic bags that Jeremy (Designer of BB bags) came out with this season. It's that time of year again! Shoes and Booze is probably our favorite event that we throw 2 times a year at J.Karma. SUMMER SALE!!!

Just a heads up! Stock up on summer handbags, shoes, and selected jewelry while it lasts! Many people are commenting on how summer is almost over but I think not. Because the whole month of June was nothing but rain I like to think of it as summer just started! brazilets

brazilets are worn by wrapping around the wrist and tied in 3 knots for three wishes. When the material wears down and the brazilet falls off naturally it is believed that your wishes will come true. This is a 200 year old Brazilian tradition and are fashionably worn throughout Latin America. They read "lembranca do senhor do bonfim da bahia" in Portuguese which translates to "in remembrance of our saint of good luck". A portion of the proceeds goes towards helping to preserve and restore Brazilian rainforest's. brazilets have partnered with PlantABillion.com, a Nature Conservatory project that will plant a billion trees in the Atlantic Forest of the Brazilian rainforest. Rings, rings, and rings!

Oh Jan Michaels' how we adore your designs so much at Jkarma. Jan Michaels' hand assembles intricate metal stampings with semi-precious stones in her studio in San Francisco. We just stocked up on all of these rings, all made from brass and they are priced at $38! All of them are adjustable so they are easily fitted and they make a perfect gift. Many of them are lockets and can hold two pictures. They are truly timeless wearable pieces of art. Along with the rings we have a collection of Jan's necklaces, earrings, cuffs, bracelets, and brooches!

July Shoe of the Month!

Summer is my favorite season and as soon as it gets warm enough I put on a pair of flip flops and then they never come off. If I could get away with wearing flip flops everyday to any occasion, you better believe I would. This season Jeffery Campbell designed a flip flop that you can get away with wearing to much more than the beach. This months "Shoe of the Month" is the Jeffery Campbell "Ruby" and it comes in purple or pewter. The gem stones dress this flip flop up and in my opinion look best with a maxi dress. Don't forget that if you come in on first Friday the "Shoe of the Month" is always 40% OFF! The rest of the month they are 20% OFF!

New Summer Jewelry!

We just received a shipment of new jewelry from Alexia Crawford and the first thing I put on was this multi strand beaded necklace. It is turquoise on gold which I love in the summer. I paired it with a peacock cuff and I can't wait to wear them with all my summer dresses. I tend to find something and obsess over it, and this is one of those things. It is the perfect length that you can just pull it over your head or it also has a lobster claw clasp with an extension of 3". I was really impressed with Alexia Crawford's collection of necklaces this season so come check them out!

The Book Bag

Check out this bag from one of our favorites, Melie Bianco. This brings a whole new meaning to "the book bag". We do alot of walking here in Philadelphia and I don't know about you but I get tired of carrying all the weight of my bag on one shoulder. The coolest thing about this bag is that it can easily be converted to a hobo and be carried over the shoulder for a different look. There are plenty of outside pockets and I love the gold hardware.
